I would like to send condolences to the families of Art Harvath and Stanley Teel. Both of these men were very instrumental in Indiana trap shooting.
Art was the president of the Indiana Trapshooter’s Association in 1987. He was also a member of the Indiana Trapshooter’s Hall of Fame. Art was the 1973 Indiana State Singles Champion shooting 200 X 200. Art was the Shoot Director of Chain of Lakes O’ Lakes Gun Club in South Bend, Indiana.
Stanley was president of the Indiana Trapshooter’s Association in 1969. He initiated and managed the first ATA registered target program at Fulton County Conservation Club.
Both of these men will be sadly missed by the shooters of Indiana and especially by all the people they touched during their lives.
Shooting is going full steam ahead here in Indiana. The weather is warming up and there are a lot of registered shoots going on. We have had the Indiana Zone Shoots and they were very successful. I would like to thank Wanda Seitz of Indiana Creek Shooting Center in Georgetown, Indiana, for hosting the Indiana Southern Zone, and Brian McCord of Fall Creek Valley in Markleville, Indiana, for hosting the Indiana Central Zone, Don and Judy Barker of Fulton County Conservation Club in Rochester, Indiana, for hosting the Indiana Northern Zone. If you see any of these people, thank them for all their effort and time they spent so they can give us the best zone shoots that we can have.
Don’t forget about the ATA Central Zone shoot July 31 – August 2. This shoot will be held at Brittany Shooting Park in Bunker Hill, Illinois. This would be a great time to get some targets in before the Grand. The Mohr family are wonderful hosts and will go out of their way to make sure you are happy.
Don’t forget the Indiana State Shoot July 7 – July 12. We will be using Pat traps this year. We have also rebuilt some houses and straightened up the line. We will have 16 program and 2 practice traps. Come out and enjoy one of the best shoots in the country.
