Hopefully it won’t be much longer and we can get out and start shooting some targets. So far this year in the Kentuckiana area, we have had a hurricane without the water, snow, ice, more wind, warm weather in February (65°) and cold weather (-3°). It seems this winter we have had a little bit of everything. I am really looking forward to spring and shooting weather.
There are some marathons to shoot this spring. Marathons are an excellent way to get a lot of targets at one time. They are also fun to shoot.
Indian Creek will shoot a doubles marathon on April 11 and Oaktown Gun Club will have a double marathon on May 9. This would be a fun way to get some doubles registered and, as the old saying goes, “You can have twice the fun in half the time.”
I am really looking forward to the Indiana State Shoot. It looks like we will be using pat traps this year. White flyer targets with pat traps should give us some outstanding targets at the state shoot. I hope everyone can come and enjoy on of the best state shoots there is. The date of the state shoot is July 7-12 at the Indiana Home Grounds in Fortville, IN.
I would like to let everyone know that Richard Marshall will hold a clinic at Glen Park Izaak Walton on May 1 & 2. Richard is one of the premier instructors in our sport. You can contact Roger Hall at 219-406-0759 or Tom Strabavy at 219-712-0181.
Remember to support your local club. They need our help now more than ever.
