I would like to thank the trapshooters of Indiana for allowing me to be your ATA Delegate this past year, and I look forward to serving as the Indiana Delegate for the coming year. It is a great honor for me to serve as your delegate.
I would like to congratulate all the trophy winners at the Indiana State Shoot. The weather was nice and the birds were perfect. We gave out 107 punches this year. This is the most that I can ever remember. Also so everyone will know, we were only down 7 entries this year for the entire shoot.
To give you a quick update of the CERAland project. The BOD met at Columbus a couple of months ago to walk the proposed site of the Indiana Trapshooters. The Board was very impressed with the layout. There were some suggestions made by the Board that CERAland officials changed on the spot for us. At a future date we are going to have an open house for the gun clubs and other interested people. More information will be sent to the gun clubs and also posted on the gun clubs bulletin boards.
At our annual meeting on Friday night of the State Shoot, we went over the financial report and a copy was given to all gun clubs. We also elected our ITA Board of Directors. Tom Matthews was elected President and Larry Atwood was elected Vice President. I was elected ATA Delegate and John Voliva and David Wright were elected as Alternate Delegates. The tentative sites for the Indiana Zone Shoots were chosen. They are: Southern Zone-Vincennes Gun Club, Central Zone-Alexandria Gun Club, and Northern Zone-St Joe Valley Conservation Club. The exact dates of the Zone Shoots are yet to be determined, but they will be held in the month of May. The date of the State Shoot for 2012 is July 10-15. Mark your calender and plan to attend.
Remember that we do have a lot of good shooting left at our local clubs. A lot of the clubs will be having their club championships and other special shoots. Let’s support our local gun clubs because without them, we wouldn’t have an ATA organization.
