September 2008 Delegate Report

Again, I would like to thank the trapshooters of Indiana for allowing me to be your delegate this past year, and I look forward to serving as the Indiana Delegate for the coming year.  It is a great honor for me to serve as your delegate.  I would like to congratulate all the trophy winners at the State Shoot.  There were a lot of good scores shot.

Just to give everyone an update with Ceraland: representatives of Ceraland came to the State Shoot and were impressed with what they saw.  We are having a meeting with Ceraland at the Grand.  This way they can see what the Grand looks like and perhaps get some ideas.  As things progress, I will keep you informed.  Remember, we are just negotiating right now.

At our annual meeting on Friday night of the State Shoot, we went over the financial report and a copy was given to all the Gun Clubs.  We also elected our ITA Board of Directors.  John Voliva was reelected President and Carl Simkins was elected Vice President.  I was elected ATA Delegate and David Wright and John Voliva were elected as Alternate Delegates.  The tentative sites for the Indiana Zone Shoots were chosen.  They are: Southern Zone – Indian Creek Shooting Center, Central Zone – Fall Creek Valley Conservation Club, and Northern Zone – Fulton County Gun Club.  The exact dates of the Zone Shoots are yet to be determined, but they will be held in the month of May.

Remember that we do have a lot of good shooting left at our local gun clubs.  A lot of clubs will be having their club championships and other special shoots.  Let’s support our local gun clubs because without them, we wouldn’t have an ATA organization.

Roland King

ATA Delegate
