November 2010 Delegate Report

Well, once again, registered trapshooting has slowed down in Indiana. As winter approaches, so do the hunting seasons.  I know a lot of Indiana shooters trade their trap guns in for their hunting guns this time of the year.  This is the time of the year I make out my shooting schedule for the coming spring, summer and fall. I make all of my motel reservations in the winter months. This way when it comes times to start shooting I already have my reservations in place. This is also the time of year I look over my equipment and decide if I need to buy anything for the coming year. It is also a great time of the year to just go to the club and help out by scoring or just introducing someone new to the sport.  Kids love to go to the range this time of the year. It isn’t crowded and they can get some quality time learning how to shoot clay targets. I know I am taking my grandson to the club to do a little shooting, as we are getting ready to do some upland game hunting.  Shooting clays makes great practice for bird hunting.

If someone wants to shoot registered targets, there are several clubs that shoot registered targets all year around.  For information on which clubs are shooting, go to our website, “Indiana Trapshooters”.

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Remember to be thankful for the freedom we enjoy everyday. Also, let’s keep in mind our service men and women who are away from their families this Thanksgiving, fighting for our freedom.

Roland King
